Take a Look At This House

We went to look at this house today.

Edit: I removed the link so MY LINKS would be back at the top of the page!

We've been wanting to see the inside of this one for a while, and finally decided to just do it so we don't keep kicking ourselves later! We also didn't want to pine over a house that may not even be what we want.

Turns out....we really do like it! It's a California style home with 4 bedrooms, and the potential for a 5th. It's on 2 1/2 acres just outside of town near where we live now.

This would be a fixer-upper. The only thing that needs to be done on the main level is: bathroom needs to be remodeled, redesigning of the kitchen and adding in more cabinets, a door on the pantry and paint. That's it. The upstairs would need more as there is a huge loft with half a wall in the middle of it and a weird set up on one side with a sink, shower and almost like a closet with a toilet. Really strange. No real bathroom, the sink and shower are kind of out in the main area of this room. So we would probably somehow turn this into a full bathroom and have a main wall to separate the two rooms completely.

The outside needs even more work. It's completely wooded, no yard. We would more than likely call in a logger to come and just clear them out. Then there will be a fantastic view because the house is sitting up above the countryside. So we want a yard, and a detached garage built so Bobby can have a place for his side business. Then there is the siding. They only sided half of the house a while back. Don't know why they never finished it. We also don't know if the unsided part would have to be redone before siding goes up. Hmmm..

Considering the work that it will need, we think it's really overpriced. We could probably really low-ball this and they would probably take it. Now...will it still be on the market when we are ready in the spring? It's actually a good possibility. It needs a lot of work, doesn't have a basement which most people want, and it's in the woods, which most people don't want.

This house has a LOT of potential, and it's hard not to get excited about it. But I know I have to be realistic too, and there is a possibility that it will already be gone once we're ready.

We got more pictures on my friends camera, but she hasn't e-mailed them to me yet.
